LOSI NASCAR BOX STOCK CLASS

-Box stock RTR out of the box car

-All hardware that comes with/on the car must remain on the car

-Stock gearing and stock motor plate required

-Stock motor/esc/radio/servo (EcoPower 827 servo suitable repair/substitute)

-Stock driveline

The tuning adjustments that are allowed:

-Shock fluids/oils

-Diff grease/fluid

-Any available NASCAR rubber tire that Losi or Proline offers

-Adding a heatsink or other cooling aids to the motor

-Gens Ace 1700 mah hard pack IC2 battery allowed

-Aftermarket servo horn or saver allowed. Steering system must remain stock past the servo horn (including the stock linkage)

The class is great for new racers on the track to develop driving skills at an affordable price point. It's not intended to be an overly complicated class that requires hundreds of dollars in additional parts, years of experience, or tuning/setup know how. For more experienced racers, it's a fun class that doesn't require tons of maintenance and setup time all while allowing some rubbing & bashing that doesn’t break the bank. If you seek to tweak every last hundredth out of the car, and need additional non-box stock parts to do so, this is not the class for you. Feel free to flex your RC tuning knowledge in multiple other classes at HVG designed for just that on our RACE page. The goal is to keep things simple, fun, and affordable.

Notes on setup: Every driver is going to have different wants and likes, but this is what works well for one of our shop owners:

70 wt shock oil bled to have very slight rebound

30,000 wt Kyosho diff grease up front

15,000 wt Kyosho diff grease in the rear

Clip on Losi motor heatsink

Proline yellow “soft” tires, inside half sauced on all 4 corners

Shock collars spun all the way up the body for lower ride height

Never had the motor cover off or out, no fancy motor break in, just plugged it in and ran.

Hopefully someday as the car counts grow we can fire up an outlaw class to build these with all the goodies, aluminum shocks, springs, fancy billet driveline, brushless power, etc!
